For foot condition which causes numbness in the feet there isn’t much that can be done. In this situation there has been damage severe enough to cause the loss of sensation. However, diabetic foot pain that causes the stinging, stabbing, and/or burning sensations can be unbearable and very frustrating. Diabetic foot pain is a condition that plagues many diabetic patients. The pain is felt when there is injury to the small blood vessels that supply nerves. The nerves in the hands, arms, legs and feet deteriorate causing a loss of feeling and weakness. Most patients complain of persistent shooting, tingling and/or stabbing pain in the feet. The causes of diabetic foot pain can be best described as the domino effect. Nerves deteriorate which affect the health of the muscles which in turn affects the alignment and then causes diabetic foot pain. When the nerves that are attached to your muscles begin to fail due to diabetes, the muscles develop a weakness and it will become difficult to complete simple motor tasks.
